HOBART, Australia (AP) _ Libby Lenton set a short-course world record for the women's 100-metre butterfly Monday at the Australian Short-Course Championships.
Lenton edged Jessicah Schipper to win in 55.95 seconds, taking 0.39 off the previous mark set by American Nathalie Coughlin in 2002.
``It's such a great feeling, such a rush,'' she said.
Schipper, who set a long course world record in the 200 butterfly at the Pan Pacific championships in Victoria last week, was second in 56.66.
Lenton's was the second short-course world record of the meet.
Liesel Jones set a record in the 100 breaststroke on Sunday, clocking 1:03.86 to wipe 0.36 off the American Tara Kirk's mark set in 2004.
Short course races are contested in 25-metre pools. Olympic pools are 50 metres in length.
