Top-seeded Tommy Robredo rallied for a 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 win Thursday over Michael Berrer to advance to the quarter-finals of the Mumbai Open.
Second-seeded Mario Ancic got past Stefano Galvani 6-1, 7-6 (6) in humid conditions.
Joining them in the quarter-finals was third-seeded Tomas Berdych, who posted a 7-6 (4), 6-4 victory over Simon Greul.
Fourth-seeded Dmitry Tursunov rallied from a first-set loss to defeat Kristian Pless 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-4. The hot weather got to Argentine teenager Juan Martin del Potro, who retired after trailing 6-3, 4-1 to Ramon Delgado. He vomited on the sideline of the court.
``Luckily we're not playing under the sun,'' Tursunov said. ``It would have been worse if one had to tackle the sun as well as the humidity.''
Qualifier James Auckland defeated Wesley Moodie 7-6 (3), 7-6 (5). Also making the quarter-finals were Bjorn Phau, a 6-3, 6-3 winner against Gouichi Motomura, and Stefan Koubek, who downed Nicolas Devilder 7-5, 6-3.
