Tommy Robredo advances to second round at Mumbai Open

Top-seeded Tommy Robredo of Spain advanced to the second round of the Mumbai Open on Wednesday, beating Austria's Alexander Peya 6-4, 6-2.

Czech Tomas Berdych, the third seed, defeated Poland's Lukasz Kubot 6-2, 6-2.

In other first-round action, fourth-seeded Dmitry Tursunov of Russia ousted Indian wild card entry Akash Wagh 6-2, 7-5, and France's Nicolas Devilder beat South Africa's Rik de Voest 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
