Kim Clijsters of Belgium will miss the Fed Cup tennis final against Italy because of a lingering wrist injury.
Justine Henin-Hardenne will play for host Belgium with Kirsten Flipkens, Caroline Maes and Leslie Butkiewicz on Sept. 16-17, the International Tennis Federation announced Wednesday.
Italy will be represented by Francesca Schiavone, Flavia Pennetta, Mara Santangelo and Roberta Vinci.
The third-ranked Clijsters said in August that her wrist injury would sideline her for at least two months. She hopes to return to tennis at the Gaz de France in Hasselt from Oct. 30-Nov. 5.
Henin-Hardenne, ranked second, missed Belgium's semifinal win over the United States in July because of fatigue after the French Open.
