Fifth-seeded Italian Francesca Schiavone will face Ukrainian Alona Bondarenko in the final of the US$600,000 Fortis Championship. Bondarenko beat the Czech Republic's Kveta Peschke 6-3, 5-7, 7-5 in just more than two hours to reach her first WTA final this year. Schiavone then outlasted Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska 7-5, 2-6, 6-1. Schiavone will attempt to win her first tournament this year after losing finals in Sydney and Amelia Island.
