David Palmer overcame a two-set deficit and beat Gregory Gaultier of France 9-11, 9-11, 11-9, 16-14, 11-2 to win squash's World Open on Wednesday at the foot of the Giza pyramids.
The second-ranked Australian won US$20,000 while Gaultier took home US$14,000.
The event was played at an open-air, all-glass court at Giza for the first time since 1999.
