finished well back in 13th.
Vicky Botwright opened the best-of-three final with a 3-2 victory

Nick Matthew advanced to the
semifinals of the British Open squash championships on Saturday when
fellow Englishman James Willstrop was forced to retire.
Willstrop, who was struck by a severe case of food poisoning
earlier this month, conceded the match after Matthew won the first
two games 11-7, 11-5.

Scotland's John White stunned world
No. 1 Amr Shabana of Egypt 3-2 in the first round of the British
Open squash championships on Friday.
Shabana was two points away from victory in the fourth game but
White came back to win in a tiebreak and also took the deciding game
for a 11-7, 10-11, 9-11, 11-10, 11-5 win.

David Palmer overcame a two-set deficit and beat Gregory Gaultier of France 9-11, 9-11, 11-9, 16-14, 11-2 to win squash's World Open on Wednesday at the foot of the Giza pyramids.
The second-ranked Australian won US$20,000 while Gaultier took home US$14,000.
The event was played at an open-air, all-glass court at Giza for the first time since 1999.
