CARSON, Calif. (AP) _ Ante Razov scored two goals and rookie
Jonathan Bornstein added his second goal in as many games as Chivas
USA beat Houston 3-2 Saturday night.
Chivas (8-6-10) moved to within one point of second-place Houston
(9-7-8) in the Western Conference standings.
Toronto's Dwayne DeRosario scored two goals for the Dynamo. His
first goal came in the 28th minute on a penalty kick but his club
was short-handed shortly thereafter. Houston midfielder Ricardo
Clark was ejected after he shoved Sacha Kljestan and Orlando Perez
in the 31st minute.
Bornstein opened the scoring in the eighth minute when he raced
toward Houston's goal and slipped a ball past goalkeeper Pat Onstad,
a Vancouver native. The goal gave him six on the season, tops among
MLS rookies.
When Clark was sent off, Chivas took advantage. Bornstein whipped
a corner kick to the front of the goal and Razov knocked it past
Onstad to gave Chivas a 2-1 lead at the break.
Razov extended Chivas' advantage in the 57th minute. Brent
Whitfield sent a cross to Razov, who slammed a left-footed shot past
Onstad. DeRosario countered in the 67th minute when he pounced on a
loose ball and fired it past Chivas goalie Preston Burpo.
