Sweden goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson may be sidelined for another month with a knee injury.
Isaksson, who missed nearly four weeks after having foot surgery, injured a knee ligament in practice Sunday, making him doubtful for Sweden's two European Championship qualifiers next month, Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter reported.
Isaksson missed Sweden's first two Euro 2008 qualifiers against Latvia and Liechtenstein after surgery to remove a loose piece of bone in his right foot. Sweden won both games.
The 24-year-old Manchester City goalkeeper had been expected to return to the field Tuesday in a reserve match.
Isaksson, who has made 42 international appearances for Sweden, transferred from French team Rennes after the World Cup in Germany and has yet to make an appearance for Man City.
Isaksson's injury is bad news for Sweden coach Lars Lagerback, as reserve goalkeeper Rami Shaaban is struggling with a stomach injury, and is questionable for Fredrikstad's match in the Norwegian Cup later this week.
Sweden hosts Spain on Oct. 7 and visits Iceland four days later.
