Villarreal's Turkey forward Nihat Kahveci will miss the rest of the season after tearing knee ligaments.
Nihat twisted his left knee in a collision with teammate Javi Venta during training on Wednesday. He is expected to be out of action for between six and seven months, Villarreal said.
Nihat is the third Villarreal player to sustain a serious knee injury since August. Midfielder Robert Pires and defender Gonzalo Rodriguez haven't played this season.
Nihat, who turns 27 on Thursday, hasn't scored in the league for Villarreal since joining from Real Sociedad in the off-season.
