Germans ask Slovakia not to sell tickets to German fans

The Slovakian soccer federation has been asked not sell any tickets to German fans for a European championship qualifier next week in a bid to avoid hooliganism.

``We've sent an urgent plea to the Slovaks not to sell any tickets to German supporters,'' German soccer federation spokesman Harald Stenger said Wednesday.

The German federation is selling tickets only to people registered with fan clubs.

Slovakia hosts Germany in Bratislava on Oct. 11.

Two Germans were arrested and six people were injured when Germany fans rioted at a game against Slovakia in September last year.

A security expert from the German federation is in Slovakia to help coordinate security measures.
