Jefferson Farfan and Alex scored first-half goals and PSV Eindhoven beat Feyenoord 2-1 in the Dutch league on Sunday.
With midfielders Phillip Cocu and Jason Culina out injured, PSV went ahead 1-0 when Farfan curled in a free kick in the seventh minute.
Brazilian defender Alex extended the lead in the 42nd when he collected a pass from Jan Kromkamp and shot past Feyenoord goalkeeper Henk Timmer from the edge of the box.
Three minutes later, Canadian midfielder Jonathan de Guzman pulled a goal back for Feyenoord, which is coached by PSV manager Ronald Koeman's older brother, Erwin, a former assistant at PSV.
Patrick Kluivert made his debut for PSV, replacing Diego Tardelli in the 72nd minute.
Also Sunday, Ajax dropped its first points of the season when it lost 2-0 at Roda JC.
Belgium defender Davy de Fauw scored in the eighth minute on a free kick by Adil Ramzi, and Andres Oper added the second in the 65th.
Ajax midfielder Wesley Sneijder hit the post just before half time.
AZ Alkmaar drew 2-2 with FC Twente.
Blaise N'kufo put Twente ahead with a 14th-minute penalty, before Shota Arveladze equalized in the 64th. Sharbel Touma's 81st-minute goal looked set to condemn Alkmaar to its first defeat of the season, but Moussa Dembale tied it minutes later.
Heerenveen beat NEC Nijmegen 3-0 on goals by Afonso Alves, Lasse Nilsson and Danijel Pranjic.

AZ Alkmaar, FC Groningen and Roda JC lead the standings with 10 points, one ahead of Heerenveen, Ajax and PSV Eindhoven. With just four points from the opening four games, Feyenoord is 12th.
On Saturday, Sebastiaan Steur scored two first-half goals and Excelsior Rotterdam beat Willem II 3-2. Andwele Slory scored Excelsior's other goal, while Mounir El Hamdaoui had two goals for Willem II.
