ROME (AP) _ AS Roma set an Italian league record by winning its 11th straight game on Sunday, beating Lazio 2-0 in the Roman derby.
Rodrigo Taddei and midfielder Alberto Aquilani scored in each half at the Stadio Olimpico.
``We made history,'' said Roma's injured captain, Francesco Totti.
The win lifted AS Roma to fourth place in the standings, one point clear of Fiorentina.
However, the fight for the league title was elsewhere. Juventus beat 10-man Lecce 3-1 to keep an unchanged lead atop the Serie A, ahead of title rivals AC Milan and Inter Milan.
The defending champion had goals from Emerson, Robert Kovac and Alessandro Del Piero to record its 22nd win from 27 matches and its 13th in 14 at home.
AC Milan won 2-0 at Palermo on second-half goals by strikers Filippo Inzaghi and Andriy Shevchenko.
Inter Milan beat Udinese 3-1 at the San Siro, ending a three-match winless streak. Argentina striker Julio Ricardo Cruz scored two goals and Nigeria forward Obafemi Martins added another.
Juventus leads with 70 points. Second-place AC Milan has 60, while Inter Milan has 58 in third. AS Roma comes next with 54.
Also on Sunday, Chievo Verona drew 2-2 at Cagliari to stay seventh; Siena beat Sampdoria 1-0; Empoli drew with last-place Treviso on an injury-time goal by Christian Rigano; Ascoli beat Messina 1-0 to stay equal 11th with Siena.
At Turin, lowly Lecce scored its first goal after a 331-minute drought through midfielder Gennaro Del Vecchio's diving header in the 10th minute.
The Turin powerhouse, coming off a 3-2 loss to Werder Bremen in the Champions League last Wednesday, tied the score in the 18th when Emerson deflected in a shot by Adrian Mutu.
Kovac, replacing suspended defender Fabio Cannavaro, made it 2-1 just before halftime with a header.
Lecce defender Alfonso Camorani was sent off in the 51st after his second yellow card.
Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed a couple of scoring chances, but Alessandro Del Piero converted a penalty in the 89th.
``Lately we tend to make our life difficult, always starting from one goal down,'' Juventus coach Fabio Capello said. ``Luckily, we took control of the match quickly and produced at least five scoring chances.''
Emerson, who ended the match with his head bandaged after being kicked in a melee, said he was lucky to score his first goal of the season.
``It's a quite important goal. Certainly, we must be more attentive in defence,'' Emerson said.
At Palermo, Zeliko Kalac, substituting for injured Brazilian Dida, made two decisive saves with his feet in the first half from David Di Michele and Mariano Gonzalez. Inzaghi made it 1-0 in the 72nd with a header off a deep pass from Johan Vogl.
Shevchenko earned a penalty in the 80th when he was fouled by goalkeeper Mariano Andujar and he converted it for his 15th goal of the season.
At the San Siro, Inter had its first win in four matches, following losses to Fiorentina and Juventus and a draw at Livorno.
Cruz converted an 18th-minute penalty when Martins was fouled by goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis, and he made it 2-0 in the 48th with a header off a cross from David Marcelo Pizarro.
Martins scored in the 60th when De Sanctis lost possession after Dejan Stankovic's free kick.
Udinese's Vincenzo Iaquinta converted a penalty in the 83rd, after the ejection of Inter defender Walter Samuel.
The Argentina international fouled Iaquinta from behind. Italian referees are cracking down on such tackles after Roma captain Francesco Totti injured his ankle last weekend. The playmaker may miss the World Cup finals in Germany.
Inter coach Roberto Mancini said referees are being stricter after Totti's injury.
On Saturday, Fiorentina rallied from a two-goal deficit to win 4-2 at Parma; and sixth-place Livorno drew 1-1 at Reggina.
