MILAN, Italy (AP) _ Messina goalkeeper Nicholas Caglioni was suspended indefinitely by the Italian league on Thursday after testing positive for cocaine.
The move was procedural pending a hearing before the league disciplinary committee.
On Monday, the Italian Olympic Committee announced that traces of cocaine were found during a doping test after Messina and Catania drew 1-1 in the Serie A on Feb. 11.
Caglioni can ask for his ``B'' sample to be tested. He risks a suspension of up to two years.
Messina signed goalkeeper Saul Santarelli on Thursday.
