Italy beat 10-man Georgia 3-1 Wednesday in European Championship qualifying.
Daniele De Rossi scored the first goal for the world champions in the 17th minute, but Giorgi Shashiashvili equalized for Georgia in the 25th.
Mauro Camoranesi then put Italy ahead in the 61st and Simone Perrotta secured the victory with another goal 10 minutes later.
Italy, which beat Ukraine 2-0 Saturday, improved to seven points in Group B, while Georgia remains with three.
Italy struggled in its opening two Euro 2008 qualifiers last month _ a 1-1 draw with Lithuania and a 3-1 loss to France. The Azzurri also lost to Croatia in a friendly in August in coach Roberto Donadoni's debut.
Against Georgia, Italy scored on its first opportunity,
De Rossi's fourth international goal came on a long, bouncing shot that Georgia goalkeeper Georgy Lomaia should have stopped.
Italy relaxed after taking the lead and goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon had no chance to stop Shashiashvili's equalizer from beyond the area.
Luca Toni then had two chances for Italy before Shashiashvili hit the post in the 44th from the same spot of the field as his goal. Buffon was beaten again.
Georgia midfielder Dzhaba Kankava picked up his second yellow card in the 60th, leaving the hosts with 10 men.
Camoranesi's goal, his third for the Azzurri, was the prettiest of the night.
Andrea Pirlo sent the ball down to Antonio Di Natale on the left flank and Camoranesi met Di Natale's cross with a textbook header from the center of the area.
Perrotta's second international goal came with a shot from the center of the area on a counterattack.
Italy's next match is a friendly on Nov. 15 against a team to be determined. The Azzurri resume qualifying in March against Scotland.
