Nantes gave George Eo a winning debut as manager, beating Marseille 2-1 Sunday for its first victory of the season and leaving Lyon alone atop the French first division.
Dimitri Payet and Guillaume Norbert scored for Nantes, which fired Serge Le Dizet as manager on Wednesday. Mamadou Niang scored for Marseille.
The victory gave Nantes six points and move it into 15th place, while Marseille remained in second place with 16 points, three behind Lyon.
On Saturday, Lyon beat Lille for the first time in two years, 4-1.
Also Sunday, Lens moved into third place by beating struggling Monaco 1-0 on an early penalty from Jussie.
Lens was awarded the penalty in the fifth minute when defender Leandro Cufre pushed Issam Jemaa. It was Jussie's third goal of the season.
Lens has 13 points from seven matches. Monaco suffered its fifth loss of the season and was left in 17th place with four points.
