Marseille striker Djibril Cisse is fit to return to competitive play six months after breaking his leg.
The France international, who broke his leg for the second time in two years in a friendly against China a week before the World Cup, was given the go-ahead from his doctor Thursday.
``After a six-month absence, I am finally going to be able to return to the field in the French league,'' Cisse said.
The 25-year-old striker is on a one-year loan deal to Marseille from Liverpool, where he had a tense relationship with manager Rafa Benitez and spent considerable time on the bench.
``Six months is tough, especially after having lived through six months without playing when I was at Liverpool,'' Cisse said. ``I think the hardest part in this period has been in my mind.''
Cisse returned to play Tuesday, when he played 60 minutes in a friendly against French third-division side Martigues.
