Former Manchester United coach Brian Kidd has joined Sheffield United.
Kidd, who helped Manchester United win the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup as assistant to manager Sir Alex Ferguson, signed a contract through to the end of the season to work with manager Neil Warnock and his assistant Stuart McCall.
``Brian was always my No. 1 choice and I'm delighted because he'll be worth his weight in gold,'' Warnock told Monday's Sheffield Star newspaper.
``He brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge, which means he'll get instant respect from the players. We want to be able to do a lot more individual coaching and this will allow us to do that.''
Kidd, a former Blackburn manager who also worked at Leeds under David O'Leary, was an assistant to England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson before prostate cancer forced him to take a break from soccer.
