Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton is facing disciplinary action for dropping his shorts in front of rival fans last weekend.
The incident happened at the end of Saturday's 1-1 draw at Everton.
The Football Association has charged Barton with improper conduct and bringing the game into disrepute.
Barton, who has a history of disciplinary problems, has until Friday evening to respond to the charge. The FA will rule on the case Tuesday and could fine or suspend him.
Police in Liverpool have decided Barton will not face any criminal charges over the incident.
