Claus Jensen scored against his former club to lead Fulham over last-place Charlton 2-1 in the English Premier League soccer action Monday.
Brian McBride had the other goal for Fulham.
Charlton dictated the first half and created several chances with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink shooting into Fulham goalkeeper Antti Niemi after a run and feed from Dennis Rommedahl.
But McBride gave the Cottagers the lead in the 65th minute when he controlled the ball from a free kick and blasted a drive from outside the Charlton area past goalkeeper Scott Carson.
Jensen made it 2-0 three minutes later when substitute Jensen collected a through ball and charged into the area to score from 15 metres.
Darren Bent replied in the 78th minute for the Addicks, who lost for the seventh time in eight games and remained last with three points.
Fulham climbed two places to 10th with 12 points.
``The guys believe . . . and now we just have to put a full 90 minutes together,'' the American striker said.
Fulham manager Chris Coleman saluted McBride for his contribution to the club.
``He's an absolute dream,'' he said. ``He's quality and he's not quick or anything but he's so strong.
``His attitude is just 100 per cent. He's a joy and a massive favourite here at Fulham.''
