Didier Drogba believes Chelsea is being deliberately
targeted by opposition players.
``I'm not being paranoid, but people are against us,'' Drogba was
quoted as saying in Tuesday's edition of French sports daily
L'Equipe.
``For certain people, anything goes in order to beat us,'' the
Chelsea and Ivory Coast striker said in an interview.
Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech had a depressed skull fracture after
Reading's Stephen Hunt hit him in the head with his knee in
Saturday's Premier League match.
Drogba disputed Hunt's insistence that it was an accident.
``It's not an accident. He saw he was going to hit Petr,'' Drogba
said. ``After he saw Petr being carried off on a stretcher, he
(Hunt) was laughing and being arrogant.''
Cech needed surgery to repair the fracture, and could be out for
six months.
Drogba said he did not realize the seriousness of Cech's injuries
until after the match.
``If I had known during the match that Petr's life was hanging by
a thread, I don't know what my reaction would have been,'' Drogba
said. ``I could have done something very stupid.''
The Blues also lost backup goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini with
concussion late in the game after he was felled by Reading defender
Ibrahima Sonko. Captain John Terry went in goal and Chelsea won 1-0.
