Charlton signed midfielder Omar Pouso on a
season-long loan from Uruguayan side Penarol for 500,000 euros
($707,275 Cdn) Thursday.
Charlton manager Iain Dowie has the option to make the
26-year-old Uruguay international a permanent signing for up to 2.25
million euros ($3.2 million Cdn) after 12 months.
``He's a very, very combative player, he gets goals and his
delivery from set pieces is good,'' Dowie said. ``He's got good
ability, he's a good age, he brings athleticism and creativity to
the team, but he also has plenty of aggression and competes very
hard, which is very important for that central-midfield area.''
Pouso has already been granted a two-year work permit.
