Bolton striker Kevin Davies had his appeal
for a wrongful dismissal rejected by the Football Association on
Thursday.
Davies will serve a three-match ban. He was sent off in Bolton's
match against Charlton last Saturday after he elbowed Abdoulaye Faye
in the face in an aerial challenge.
Davies had earlier been caught by the swinging elbow of Charlton
defender Hermann Hreidarsson. That left Davies with a depressed
fractured cheekbone.
That injury is expected to rule Davies out until October.
