Blackburn, Tottenham appeal against red cards

Blackburn and Tottenham both appealed against the red cards given by referee Phil Dowd in Sunday's 1-1 draw in the English Premier League.

Blackburn appealed Monday against the dismissal of midfielder Tugay Kerimoglu for a professional foul on Tottenham midfielder Hossam Ghaly. Tottenham has challenged the red card shown to Ghaly for a high tackle on Michael Gray in injury time.

Tugay scored for Blackburn in the 23rd minute, but Jermain Defoe equalized from the penalty spot after Tugay's red card in the 62nd.

Both appeals will be heard Tuesday.
