A win for Arsenal won't guarantee the Gunners a spot in the second round of the Champions League. It won't hurt, though.
Arsenal, which earned only one point from its last two matches against Group G leader CSKA Moscow, faces Hamburger SV on Tuesday.
``I think we are under serious pressure to deliver and I think we will,'' Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said. ``We know what we have to do.''
CSKA leads the group with eight points, followed by Arsenal and FC Porto with seven each and Hamburg with zero.
The Russian team can clinch a spot in the second round with a win over FC Porto on Tuesday. In the last set of matches on Dec. 6, Arsenal visits Porto and Hamburg hosts CSKA.
Arsenal striker Thierry Henry did not start against Newcastle on Saturday in the English Premier League, but he came on as a substitute and scored the equalizer in the 1-1 draw with a free kick.
``I am worried about burnout and I'll need to protect Thierry when it is needed,'' Wenger said.
Arsenal's form at the Emirates Stadium is also worrying. The match against Newcastle was the team's fourth league draw at home this season. The Gunners also drew 0-0 with CSKA in the Champions League on Oct. 17.
The Gunners are in fourth place in the English league _ 12 points behind leader Manchester United.
Hamburg, which has only 11 points from 13 games in the Bundesliga and is in second-to-last place, drew 0-0 at last-place Mainz 05 on Saturday.
``We are of course very disappointed,'' Hamburg coach Thomas Doll. ``We are simply not doing enough when we reach the opposing penalty area and you can't win games playing like that.''
