Vancouver contains Romario to beat Miami 2 0

The Vancouver Whitecaps advanced to the USL First Division semifinals with a 2-0 win over Miami FC on Sunday, taking the series 6-1 on aggregate goals.

Martin Nash and Eduardo Sebrango scored for Vancouver, while Whitecaps goalkeeper Tony Caig earned his eighth shutout of the season.

The Whitecaps took the first game in Miami 4-1 on goals from four different scorers.

Vancouver will take on the first place Montreal Impact in an all-Canadian clash that will ensure that one Canadian team will be in the championship match. The two-game total-goal semifinal series begins Friday in Vancouver before heading east to Montreal for Game 2 on Sunday.

The Whitecaps head into the series as the hottest team in the league, having won four in a row losing only once in their last ten games.

Rochester meets Charleston in the other semifinal.
