Brazil coach Dunga said Friday that his team is not blessed with as many top-notch players as most people believe.
``Brazil doesn't have as many great players as people say,'' Dunga told the Agencia Estado news service. ``For me, the true great player decides eight in 10 matches. Those who decided two or three can only be called above-average players.''
Dunga has revamped the national team in the four months he has been at the helm, introducing several younger players and leaving out regulars _ including Real Madrid's Ronaldo and Inter Milan's Adriano. Even Ronaldinho of FC Barcelona and AC Milan's Kaka have had to fight for a spot in the starting lineup.
``Don't get me wrong, I like technical players, of course I want quality in my team,'' Dunga said. ``But soccer is performance and the player who is performing better will end up playing.''
Brazil is unbeaten since Dunga took over following the team's World Cup elimination. It drew with Norway, then beat Argentina, Wales, Kuwait Sports Club, Ecuador and Switzerland.
Brazil's captain when it won the 1994 World Cup in the United States, Dunga replaced Carlos Alberto Parreira after Brazil was eliminated from the World Cup quarter-finals with a 1-0 loss to eventual runner-up France.
