BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) _ Former Belgium goalkeeper Michel Preud'homme took over as Standard Liege coach Thursday, a day after Dutchman Johan Boskamp was fired.
Standard Liege, which hasn't won the league title in 23 years, has started the season with two defeats and two draws. The club was also eliminated from the Champions League by Steau Bucharest.
Boskamp was fired after only four league games and replaced by Preud'homme, who resigned as technical director at the club. Preud'homme, voted the best goalkeeper at the 1994 World Cup, coached Standard in 2001-2002.
