The McGill women's rugby team extended its nine-year undefeated streak to 55 games by blanking Bishop's 55-0 in its season opener Sunday.
Centre Laura Belvedere of Chatham, Que., accounted for 20 points for McGill, 54-0-1 in regular-season play during the streak.
McGill was up 77-0 on the scoreboard when the game was officially called five minutes into the second half, with the official score listed as 55-0, because of a mercy rule implemented this year due to McGill's domination in the Quebec conference.
McGill has won eight straight Quebec titles and last season outscored league opponents 400-15 in winning all six of its games.
