Alex Yoong wins A1 Grand Prix race

Alex Yoong of Malaysia won the A1 Grand Prix of Nations sprint race on Sunday, while Toronto's James Hinchcliffe finished second.

Yoong, who also won the later feature race, completed 10 laps in 18 minutes 2.946 seconds _ just less than two seconds quicker than Hinchcliffe.

In the feature race, Yoong completed 38 laps of the 5.41-kilometre circuit in one hour 10 minutes 47.815 seconds. Hinchliffe was fifth in that race with 1:11:00.799.

Germany leads the overall standings with 20 points after two events of the season, followed by Mexico on 19 and Malaysia with 17. Canada is fourth with 11 points.
