Peterborough comes from behind to defeat Victoria 10 6 in Game 1 at Mann Cup

John Grant Jr. had five goals and three assists to lead the Peterborough Lakers to a 10-6 win over the Victoria Shamrocks in Game 1 of the Mann Cup lacrosse tournament Friday.

Despite a sound opening two periods, the road Shamrocks got into penalty trouble in the third period, surrendering eight goals in the final frame.

Dan Carey, with two, Ryan Sharp and Scott Evans added goals for Peterborough.

Dan Dawson led the Shamrocks with two goals.

Game 2 will be on Saturday.

The Mann Cup is awarded to Canada's best senior men's lacrosse team.
