Alex Gajic has five goals, two assists to lead Burnaby over Edmonton 21 5

Alex Gajic had five goals and two assists to lead the Burnaby Lakers to a 21-5 win over the Edmonton Miners at the Minto Cup lacrosse tournament Tuesday.

Brock Armour, Dane Dobbie, Garrett Billings and Ilija Gajic each added two goals while Curtis Ptolemy, Jamie Lincoln, Jeff Buchanan, Jamie Shewchuk, Joe Vetere, Steven Leblanc, Chase Williams and Baun Adlington had singles for the Lakers (2-0).

Andrew Kent replied with three goals while Chris Schmidt and Neil Tichkowsky also scored for the Miners (0-2).

Burnaby will play the Peterborough Lakers Wednesday, with the winner getting a bye into the championship game on Saturday afternoon.

The Minto Cup is Canada's junior lacrosse championship.
