Mike MacLeod, Toronto's first pick in the 2006 National Lacrosse League entry draft, has signed a one-year deal with the Rock.
The Owen Sound, Ont., product was selected 15th overall. Earlier this month, he helped the Brock Badgers win the Canadian intercollegiate field lacrosse title. He scored four goals and assisted on 30 in 22 OLA junior games with the Orangeville Northmen last summer.
Brad MacArthur and Matt Carroll also signed one-year contracts, the Rock announced. MacArthur hasn't played professionally since 2004 with the Calgary Roughneck. Carroll was Toronto's second pick, 35th overall, in the draft.
The Rock held workouts at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena at Six Nations during the weekend.
In Buffalo, the Bandits announced the re-signing of midfielders Mark Steenhuis of St. Catharines and Rich Kilgour of Lewiston, N.Y.
Steenhuis was second in team scoring with 57 points (34-23) last season. Kilgour was captain last season and returns for his 15th year in Bandits colours.
The fixed NLL rookie minimum is US $6,880 for the 16-game schedule. The second-year minimum is $9,282. Veterans are paid a minimum of US$10,221 and the maximum is set at US$21,294.
