Broncos score four goals in five minutes late in third to beat Raiders 6 3

The Swift Current Broncos scored four times in less than five minutes late in the third period to cap a come-from-behind 6-3 win over the visiting Prince Albert Raiders in Western Hockey League action Saturday.

Defenceman Michael Wilson scored his first of the season with 6:32 remaining in regulation to tie the game at 3-3.

Just 22 seconds later Brady Leavold scored an unassisted goal to count the eventual game winner. Geordie Wudrick scored 1:10 later and Leavold capped the comeback with his second of the night with just 1:44 left in regulation.

The Broncos also had goals from Kyle Bortis and rookie Matt Tassone, with his first WHL goal.

Prince Albert, who led by period scores of 2-0 and 2-1, had goals from Lukas Zeliska, Josh Elder, and Matt Robertson with his team leading seventh of the season.

Broncos goaltender Travis Yonkman improved to 4-1 on the year after rebounding from a slow start. He gave up two goals on six shots in the opening 10:01 of play before being replaced by Kyle Moir who stopped all five shots he faced. Yonkman returned for the final two periods and stopped 15 of 16 shots to post the win.

Raiders rookie goaltender David Aime dropped to 3-2 on the campaign after giving up six goals on 39 shots. He had stopped 21 of 22 shots in the opening two periods before giving up five goals on 17 third period shots.

The win improves the Broncos record to 8-6-0-0, while the Raiders fall to 5-6-1-0.
