over the host Swift Current Broncos in Western Hockey League action
Friday.
Ben Maxwell scored an unassisted short handed goal midway
through the second period to account for the eventual game winning
goal. A minute and a half later Arnaud Jacquemet scored his fifth of
the year.
The teams traded power-play goals in the third period, with Chad
Greenan scoring for Kootenay and Brady Leavold countering for Swift
Current.
Maxwell had a goal and an assist to improve to 23 points on the
season (eight goals and 15 assists).
Ice netminder Kris Lazaruk stopped 32 shots to improve his season
record to 3-2.
Broncos goaltender Kyle Moir is 4-5 on the season after turing
aside 22 of 25 shots.
The win improves Kootenay's record to 8-3-0-1, while Swift
Current drops to 7-6-0-0.
