Kootenay Ice forward Ben Maxwell was named Canadian Hockey League player of the week on Wednesday.
Maxwell had three goals and five assists last week, helping the Ice to three straight victories. The 18-year-old Vancouver native was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the second round (No. 49 overall) of this year's NHL entry draft.
Sebastian Dahm of the Ontario Hockey League's Sarnia Sting was named CHL goaltender of the week. The 19-year-old Dane had a 1.99 goals-against average and .927 save percentage in two victories last week.
