Brandon Campos scored twice as the Everett
Silvertips counted three goals in the second period on their way to
downing the Tri-City Americans 4-1 in Western Hockey League action
Tuesday night.
Everett entered the match with a one-point lead over the
Americans for top spot in the U.S. Division.
Following a scoreless first period, Campos put the home side on
the board with a power-play goal 2:16 into the second. He added his
third goal of the season at 11:59 and Kyle Beach made it 3-0 on the
power play at 14:35.
Zach Hamill completed the scoring for the Silvertips (8-1-0-1)
early in the third period.
Colton Yellow Horn replied with 4:48 remaining in the match for
Tri-City (7-2-0-0), which could only manage three shots on the
Silvertips goal in the second period and only one in the third.
Americans goalie Carey Price turned aside 26 shots while Leland
Irving made 13 saves in the game.
