Codey Burki scored a pair of power-play
goals to lead the Brandon Wheat Kings to a 3-1 triumph over the
Kootenay Ice in the Western Hockey League on Saturday night.
Captain Teegan Moore and Daryl Boyle both scored their first
goals of the year while Mark Derlago extended his points streak to
nine games with an assist for the Wheat Kings (8-4-0-1), who won
their fourth in a row.
Arnaud Jacquemet replied with the lone goal for the Ice
(8-4-0-1), who had their eight-game point streak snapped.
Brandon goaltender Tyler Plante made 22 saves, while Kris Lazaruk
stopped 20 shots for Kootenay.
The Wheat Kings led 1-0 after the first period and 2-0 following
the second.
