Mark Derlago and Cody Burki joined forces Monday to lead the Brandon Wheat Kings to a stunning third-period comeback.
Derlago and Burki each scored twice as the Wheat Kings stormed back from four goals down to upend the Lethbridge Hurricanes 6-5 in a wild Western Hockey League matinee.
Burki's second goal with just under six minutes left in the third period stood as the game winner for Brandon (4-4-0-0), which earned its first road victory of the season. Derlago followed with his second of the game 44 seconds later to cap a five-goal third period for the Wheat Kings.
Andrew Clark had a goal and three assists while Juraj Simek added a single for Brandon.
In other WHL action Monday, it was: Vancouver 5, Chilliwack 4; Kamloops 5, Swift Current 2; and Regina 2, Prince Albert 0.
At Lethbridge, Alta., Mitch Fadden and Ben Wright had a goal and an assist apiece as Lethbridge (4-3-1-1) broke out to a 4-0 lead _ on the strength of three power-play goals _ just 7:55 into the game. The Hurricanes finished with 21 first-period shots, but managed just 13 the rest of the way as they dropped their second straight.
Jesse Craige, Yashar Farmanara and Tomas Kudelka added singles for Lethbridge.
Tyler Plante earned the victory with a 29-save effort for the Wheat Kings.
Sam Huston made 22 saves in a losing cause for the Hurricanes.

At Chilliwack, B.C., Mitch Czibere broke a 4-4 tie with 1:12 remaining to lead Vancouver past the Bruins.
Michal Repik, Jason Reese, Milan Lucic and J.D. Watt also scored for the Giants (9-0-0-0).
Ken Petkau and Mark Santorelli, with two each, responded for Chilliwack (1-7-0-0).

At Kamloops, B.C., Dustin Butler stopped 15 shots in the Blazers' victory over Swift Current.
