Centre Justin Donati scored three goals
and assisted on another as the Toronto-St. Michael's Majors
outlasted the Mississauga IceDogs 7-6 in Ontario Hockey League
action Wednesday night.
Donati scored twice in the first period and and added his seventh
marker of the season midway through the third period as the Majors
(6-6-0) won their third-straight game and moved into a tie for third
place in the Central Division.
Donati also set up Michael Haley for his ninth goal of the season
in the second period. Jason Cassidy, Matt Caria and Rob Kwiet had
the other goals for Toronto.
Michael Swift scored three times for Mississauga (7-2-0-1),
giving him six on the season, and Stefan Legein added a pair of
goals to raise his season total to seven, matching his entire output
of last season. Travis Fuller had the other goal for the IceDogs,
who remained tied for first with Barrie. The Colts were shut out 4-0
by Belleville as Tyler Donati _ Justin's twin brother _ led the
Bulls with three goals.
Chris Carrozzi started in goal for the Majors but he was lifted
after giving up Mississauga's fourth goal at the 7:40 mark of the
second period. He was replaced by Wayne Savage, who allowed the
final two Mississauga goals. The IceDogs fired a total of 60 shots
at the Toronto net.
IceDogs goalie Andrew Loverock made 32 saves.
