Michael Pelech had a four-point game with two
goals and two assists as the Toronto-St. Michael's Majors beat the
Peterborough Petes 6-3 in Ontario Hockey League action Sunday.
The Majors were down 2-1 after the first period, but Pelech tied
the game at 11:35 in the second period. A short-handed goal from
Kaspars Daugavins later in the period shot Toronto into the lead.
Matt Piva, Cassidy Preston and Pelech scored in the third to
extend Toronto's lead. Micheal Haley also added for the Majors
(3-5-0-0).
Daniel Ryder registered two points for the Petes (4-2-0-0) with
one goal and one assist. Brett Theberge and Riley Brand accounted
for Peterborough's other goals.
Wayne Savage made 24 saves for the Majors, while Trevor Caan
stopped 29 shots at the other end.
