Steven Stamkos took advantage of the man-advantage, scoring all
three goals of his hat trick on the power play to lead the Sarnia
Sting to a 4-2 victory over the Sudbury Wolves in Ontario Hockey
League action Saturday.
The rookie centre from Unionville, Ont., has scored seven goals
in the six games he's played this season.
Stamkos is tied for first in the league in goals scored with
Bobby Hughes of the Kingston Frontenacs and James Neal of the
Plymouth Whalers. Of the three, Stamkos is the only rookie.
Elsewhere in OHL action Saturday, it was: Saginaw 7, Ottawa 3;
Belleville 4, Kingston 2; Barrie 8, Erie 7; and, Owen Sound 4,
Plymouth 2.
At Sarnia, Tomas Pospisil put away another power-play goal for
Sarnia (5-1-0-0), who came back from a 1-0 deficit after the first
period.
Matt Dias scored late in the first period for the Wolves
(3-4-0-0) and Jesse Messier added one in the second.
The win moves Sarnia to the top spot of the West Division and is
the team's fourth in a row.
Their only loss came at the hands of the Owen Sound Attack,
which are one point ahead of Sarnia for the top spot in the Western
Conference.

At Saginaw, Mich., Jack Combs scored twice to lead the Saginaw
Spirit to their second win of the season, a victory over Ottawa
67's.
Bulls 4, Frontenacs 2
At Belleville, Ont., Nick Pageau's power-play goal at 4:11 in the
third period stood as the winner as the Bulls downed Kingston.
Colts 8, Otters 7
At Barrie, Ont., four goalies saw ice time as the Colts emerged
victorious in a tight win over Erie.
Attack 4, Whalers 2
At Owen Sound, Ont., the Attack took charge in the second
period, scoring three goals in five minutes, defeating Plymouth.
