A criminal investigation hanging over their team hasn't hurt the Saginaw Spirit on the ice.
Patrick McNeill scored twice and added two assists as Saginaw rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat the Peterborough Petes 5-3 in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday.
Zac Torquato, one of five players suspended by the team for two games last weekend for breaking team rules, scored the winner and added an assist.
Three of the five players suspended last week, Ryan McDonough and Chris Chappell being the others, returned to the Spirit lineup.
Matt Corrente and Scott Fletcher sat out their third game for what Spirit coach and general manager Bob Mancini called ``internal matters.''
Michigan State police revealed this week they are investigating Spirit players for an incident in Saginaw, Mich., last week. No charges have been laid and police are not releasing details about the investigation.
The Spirit (4-3-0-1) have won four games in a row including three since news of the investigation became public.
``I'm at the point now where I'm not even commenting on the other stuff,'' Mancini said. ``We played a good hockey game tonight and right now nothing is affecting our team. We're playing well and making smart decisions with the puck but, most of all, we've been resilient playing hockey.''
Elsewhere in OHL action, it was: Barrie 3, Brampton 0; and Windsor 3, Kitchener 2 (SO).
At Peterborough, Ont., Jari Mursak had a goal and assist for Saginaw and Ryan McDonough also scored. Tom Pyatt and Tomas Zaborsky had two assists each.
Steve Downie and Daniel Ryder had a goal and assist each for the Petes (4-3-0-0) while Branislav Rehus added a short-handed goal.
