The OHL's Owen Sound Attack have acquired overage goaltender Scott Bowles after he was waived by the WHL's Prince George Cougars.
The Cougars were forced to cut Bowles because they had too many overage players on their roster.
Bowles, who turns 20 later this week, was one of the top goalies in the league last season with a 26-16-2-2 record, a 2.40 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage.
But given that the Cougars already had a capable 19-year-old goaltender in Real Cyr as well as three quality overage forwards in Eric Hunter, Brett Robertson and Jared Walker, it wasn't a surprise that Bowles was let go.
Bowles was scheduled to practise with the team Tuesday.
The Attack are 7-2-0-1 this season. The team's next game is in London, Ont., on Friday.
