Pat Kane scored his first Ontario Hockey League hat trick as the
London Knights blasted the Windsor Spitfires 9-2 in Ontario Hockey
League action Friday.
Kane highlighted his hat trick in the game's first 26 minutes by
splitting Windsor's unsuspecting defence with a wild head fake, then
an accurate shot past backup goalie Andrew Engelage.
Elsewhere in OHL action Friday, it was: Owen Sound 3, Brampton 2;
Erie 3, Plymouth 2; Guelph 6, Kingston 2; Belleville 3, Mississauga
2 (SO); Saginaw 5, Ottawa 3; Oshawa 4, Sault Ste. Marie 1; Sarnia 5,
Kitchener 4; and Barrie 3, Sudbury 1.
At London, Ont., Kane and the Knights (6-0-1-1) chased Windsor's

as one of the league's best. The Knights had five goals on 11 shots
in the first period.
London won six of their first seven games in defence of their
three straight regular-season titles.
Sam Gagner, who is the early front-runner in an OHL scoring race
that's become private property of London the past two seasons (Corey
Perry in 2004-05 and Schremp in 2005-06), added two goals and six
points to give him 25 points in seven games.
David Meckler also scored two for the Knights, while Jordan
Foreman and Sergei Kostitsyn added one apiece.
Adam Henrique and Anthony Soboczynski scored for Windsor
(2-5-1-1).
Spitfires coach Bob Boughner was so disgusted by the officiating
of Darcy Burchell in the third period, he refused to send a player
to the penalty box and was hit with a game misconduct, earning an
ejection from the bench.
