Shawn Matthias scored once in regulation
and once in the shootout to lead the Belleville Bulls to a 3-2 win
over the Mississauga IceDogs in the Ontario Hockey League Friday.
After battling to a 2-2 draw through 65 minutes of play, Matthias
and Matt Belesky got to Mississauga netminder Lucas Lobsinger in the
shootout.
Matt Pelech and Matthias scored less than two minutes apart late
in the first period for the Bulls (5-3-0-0).
The IceDogs (5-1-0-1) fought back in the second period when Luca
Caputi scored in the second minute of play and captain Cody Bass
tied the game with less than four minutes remaining in the period.
Belleville goalie Kevin Lalande was sensational, stopping 43 of
45 shots on the night.
Lobsinger made 31 saves at the other end.
