Marek Svatos scores, adds shootout goal as Avalanche beat Kings 4 3

Marek Svatos scored one of Colorado's three first-period goals and had the lone goal in a shootout to give the Avalanche a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday night in the final exhibition game for both teams.

Milan Hejduk and Tyler Arnason also scored for the Avalanche (5-1). Jose Theodore stopped 28 shots also made saves on shots by Alexander Frolov, Michael Cammalleri and Lauri Tukonen in the shootout.

Jeff Cowan scored twice and Tukonen scored for Los Angeles (4-1-1) in the second period. Dan Cloutier made 40 saves for the Kings.
