Adrian Aucoin had three assists and Jeff Hamilton added a goal and an assist to help the Chicago Blackhawks remain undefeated in the pre-season with a 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday night.
Rene Bourque and Radim Vrbata also scored for Chicago, which is 6-0 in the pre-season. Brian Boucher made 29 saves in goal for the Blackhawks.
Doug Weight, who was seeing his first action as he recovers from a shoulder injury he suffered with Carolina in the Stanley Cup finals, scored for St. Louis. Bill Guerin had the other Blues goal, his fifth in exhibition play.
With the game tied 1-1, St. Louis gave Chicago a 5-on-3 power play early in the second period after Dennis Wideman and Jamal Mayers each were whistled for hooking in a 14-second span.
Hamilton gave the Hawks the lead when he took a pass from Aucoin and beat Blues goalie Curtis Sanford with a one-timer from the left circle at 3:32.
Vrbata made it 3-1 before the power play was over when he walked in from the left boards and stuffed a shot by Sanford at the 4:59 mark.
Guerin scored a power-play goal 4:26 into the third, but St. Louis couldn't tie the game.
The Blues fell to 1-4 in the pre-season.
