The Buffalo Sabres signed goaltender Adam Dennis to a three-year entry level contract Thursday and assigned him to Rochester of the American Hockey League.
Buffalo selected Dennis in the sixth round, 182nd overall, in the 2005 NHL entry draft. The 21-year-old Toronto native spent four years in the Ontario Hockey League with the Guelph Storm and London Knights, posting a career record of 100-45-9.
Dennis was named the OHL's top goalie last year after registering a league-record 44 wins with London while posting a 2.82 goals-against average and .915 save percentage.
Dennis was traded to London during the 2004-'05 season and helped the club capture the 2005 Memorial Cup title. He stopped 27 shots in the final as the Knights beat Rimouski 4-0, making Dennis the first goalie to record a shutout in the tournament's championship game.
