Sergio Garcia is looking for a tighter Ryder Cup.
Europe beat the Americans 18{-9{ two years ago at Oakland Hills near Detroit.
``Wins like our success in 2004 don't happen too often,'' Garcia said Tuesday, preparing for the European Masters. ``I'd take 14{ or 15 points. That would be good enough for all of us.''
Tiger Woods won his fifth straight tournament Monday, but Garcia is hoping he'll cool off for the Sept. 22-24 matches.
``Fortunately for us he doesn't have a great Ryder Cup record,'' Garcia said. ``So I'm looking forward to hopefully going out there and meeting him two or three times.''
Despite critical remarks by Thomas Bjorn about European captain Ian Woosnam, Garcia said he was pleased with the Welshman.
Woosnam named Darren Clarke and Lee Westwood as his captain's picks, prompting Bjorn to respond angrily Monday after being overlooked.
On Tuesday, Bjorn apologized.
``I think Ian's great,'' Garcia said. ``I've been talking to him the last couple of weeks. I think he's going to do a good job. He's made two good picks. I know there were a couple of other players with a chance but unfortunately you can't pick all of them.''
